Training Course:

As part of the implementation of the European Water Framework Directive, the University of Turin, CISBA (the Italian Center for Environmental Biology Studies), and ISPRA organized a first-level training course on the taxonomic identification of benthic diatoms involving laboratory operators of the Environmental Agencies (ARPA) and qualified freelancers.

The course lasted 5 days and involved 11 participants in theoretical lessons and practical sessions in the field and laboratory at the Alpstream Center in Ostana; the main focus of the course were the identification of river benthic diatoms and the application of quality indices based on this component.
