Grant for Internationalisation
From France to Turin to Protect Alpine Ecosystems
Increasing international collaborations in the alpine environment: this is the goal of the Grant for Internationalisation project within the UNITA framework, which involves the DBIOS (UNITO), Alpstream, the University Savoie Mont Blanc of Chambéry, and the University of Le Mans.
This spirit led to the seminar entitled "New Tools in Algal Ecology: from metabarcoding to ecophysiology" held on November 9 and 10 at the DBIOS, where research topics related to microalgae physiology and metabarcoding techniques applied to diatom taxonomy were presented.
The seminar was held by Professor Benoît Schoefs from the University of Le Mans (France), Frédéric Rimet researcher from the CARRTEL Laboratory (University Savoie Mont Blanc) in Thonon les Bains (France), and Kalman Tapolkzai from the Balaton Limnological Research Institute (Hungary).
The group then visited the Alpstream center and the artificial river system in Ostana. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the potential of the center for collaborations and projects aimed at protecting aquatic ecosystems.
A space was dedicated to showcasing the ongoing research at the center by professors, researchers, PhD students, and scholars.
